Gartner<\/a>, the leading information technology research and consultancy company, has recognized Veridas<\/a> as a key vendor in their latest Hype Cycle for Digital Identity. Specifically, Veridas has been named among the top-10 solutions in two main categories: Third Party Biometrics and Document-Centric Identity Proofing.<\/p>

This appearance in one of Gartner’s most essential documents adds to the more than ten mentions of Veridas in other documents, including the Market Guides<\/a> for User Authentication and Identity Proofing and Affirmation, and the Hype Cycles<\/a> for Digital Government Services, Digital Government Technology, and Frontline Worker Technologies. All of these are Gartner Tier 1 documents.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As a research company, Gartner regularly publishes different reports and guides for companies to make the best strategic and purchasing decisions. Among the reports they publish, there are Tier 1 documents, the most important documents within the company. There are 3 Tier 1 Documents: Magic Quadrants, Market Guides, and Hype Cycles. <\/p>

Many of these documents have a long history of annual publications, in which Gartner offers a new version of the same report adjusted to the new business landscape. To do this, Gartner analysts talk to clients and vendors on an ongoing basis to provide the most objective information on the industry in question. <\/p>

In this case, there was a need to cover a scenario, that of digital identity, which until now had been treated in an atomized manner. Furthermore, the digital identity’s importance is pushing the established limits’ boundaries. As Felix Gaehtgens<\/a>, the analyst responsible for this Hype Cycle, says: \u201cDigital identity now extends our personal identity beyond our physical presence, and is becoming widely distributed across multiple organizations, systems, algorithms and smart devices.\u201d<\/p>

The Hype Cycle for Digital Identity touches many different technologies within the identity ecosystem: from identity Wallets, to Internet of Things (IoT) Authentication, Decentralized Identity, etc. Within those 19 categories, two tackle the Veridas portfolio, Third-Party Biometrics, and Document-Centric Identity Proofing. In both, Veridas has been named as of the ten best vendors in the world. <\/p>

Gartner divides all these categories into different states according to their level of maturity, resulting in a graphic representation: The Hype Cycle. The Document-Centric Identity Proofing<\/a> category has been tagged to be in a \u201cPlateau of Productivity\u201d status as \u201cthe relentless pursuit of digital transformation has led the majority of businesses offering the ability to register for services online\u201d Specifically, for this category, the report recommends to \u201ccarefully considered vendor selection process by following the guidance in Buyer\u2019s Guide for Identity Proofing<\/a>.\u201d<\/em> Buyer\u2019s Guide that also includes Veridas as a reference vendor.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The appearance in the Hype Cycle for Digital Identity adds to more than a dozen appearances by Veridas as a vendor of reference in other Gartner documents.
