Veridas, a leading company in biometric technology, digital identity, and cybersecurity, has been selected to participate in the second phase of the Large Scale Pilots for the EU Digital Identity Wallet as part of the WE BUILD consortium.
Backed by the European Commission, the consortium aims to strengthen the EU Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem by developing use cases that facilitate everyday life for businesses and citizens. With nearly 200 partners, including Member States, public entities, and private organizations, WE BUILD will address thirteen strategic use cases in the fields of digital identity, payments, and legal representation.
Veridas’ Contribution to the Project
As part of its participation in WE BUILD, Veridas will help advance the use of the EU Digital Identity Wallet in the payments ecosystem. Specifically, Veridas will contribute to:
-
Supporting industry readiness for online payments using the EU Digital Identity Wallet, by helping develop specifications and running large-scale pilots for both card-based and account-based payments, while sharing key insights and guidelines with the industry.
-
Enriching payments with identity attributes, with a particular focus on age verification to enable compliant, privacy-preserving user experiences.
-
Evaluating the impact of the EUDI Wallet on fraud prevention and risk management, especially in relation to Confirmation of Payee mechanisms.
Through this work, Veridas reinforces its commitment to a future where digital identity makes transactions safer, smarter, and more human-centered — protecting both businesses and citizens across Europe.
The WE BUILD project will commence in September 2025 and will run for 24 months.
