What is LuzIA foundation
The first meeting of the board of patrons of the LuzIA Foundation, an initiative of which Veridas and das-Nano are part, was held on Thursday, September 23rd, to promote from Navarra a “humanized, ethical and positive” Artificial Intelligence in society.
Fundación LuzIA plans to carry out several projects such as an “Artificial Intelligence School Week” or the first “Artificial Intelligence Gala of Navarra”, among others.
Another group of interest that LuzIA will focus on will be people with disabilities. Through the so-called “Teresa Project”, they will be provided with the necessary knowledge and skills so that they can take on new jobs, such as training artificial intelligence systems (identification, classification, etc…) where they can add value to new technologies, generating a collaborative ecosystem where everyone wins.
All this without forgetting the most solidary part. Thus, in collaboration with companies such as das-Nano, they consider making it possible for anyone in the world with talent to be trained in artificial intelligence so that it can become their way of life and personal development.
Another of its aims is to encourage a vigilant and critical reflection on the imbalances that the generalization of AI could produce and to propose alternatives so that its development is always carried out under the control of people. To this end, the LuzIA Foundation plans to “promote, disseminate, research, train and educate to contribute to a more positive and ethical vision of Artificial Intelligence”. They even propose to promote an “Institute of Digital Ethics”.
They also propose the creation of open innovation ecosystems focused on users and in which ideas and research processes based on AI are integrated.
From Veridas, we collaborate very actively with our team in the activities of LuzIA Foundation. To date, we have conducted lectures and workshops with schools in Pamplona, both in the schools themselves and at our headquarters in Navarra.
Artificial Intelligence Week
A school week will be designed with different types of activities: talks, demonstrations, workshops, and any activity we can think of (either a reinforcement learning workshop, a machine learning activity, talks aimed at parents and/or students…), with the objective we mentioned above. This week will be repeated in 4 different schools at the beginning of 2022.
