Mobile World Congress 2021

Within the framework of the Mobile World Congress, Veridas will present real use cases of this technology, including the possibility of integrating voice biometrics in a mobile application in order to give proof of life by telephone, and thus allow the elderly to collect their pension without having to physically go to a branch, or the use in the security and alarm sector, where voice biometrics is allowing the identity verification of customers who call the contact center of the company, without having to ask them for the “keyword”. For customers, these applications of biometric voice identification technology imply a significant improvement in user experience by eliminating the use of passwords, codes and other low-reliable verification elements. For companies, the identification of each user in 3 seconds, allows optimizing time and costs of the contact center. Companies such as Deutsche Telekom, BBVA and Prosegur already rely on these voice biometrics solutions developed by Veridas.

Similarly, Mobile World Congress attendees will be able to experience the digital onboarding experience developed by Veridas, which, among others, is already used in the considered best banking app in the world (BBVA), according to Forrester Research. As well as the pilot access control that has been tested in the soccer stadium of Club Atlético Osasuna during this past season.

Veridas will be attended by its main executives, including Eduardo Azanza, CEO of Veridas, Ignacio del Castillo (Alliances Director), Esteban Morrás (Sales Director), Miguel Zarraluqui (Voice Biometrics Product Manager), Belen Aliño (Sales Manager), Javier López (dasGate Manager) and Eduardo Gozalo (Marketing Manager).

Biometric technology regulation in Spain

Azanza, who is part of the group of experts leading the regulation of biometric technology in Spain and has participated in the “Study paper on the adoption of a regulation of new technological, disruptive and social realities” framed in the Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation Committee in the Senate, has claimed:

“Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence shape a binomial that guarantees all citizens identities in the face of the challenges, opportunities and dangers that we are already experiencing from the digital transformation”.

The Navarre-based company has increased its technology accuracy to 99.9%, minimizing recognition time, and even detecting fraud in pre-recorded voice fragments in a bid to fight against identity fraud, which places it at the forefront of its sector.
